Clinical Photography

If a member of our team has asked you to send a photograph of a skin issue e.g. mole or a visible swelling prior to your GP/Nurse consultation, please follow the guidelines below and complete the Clinical Photograph Upload form.

Photographs should not be taken of skin issues if they will expose the breasts (in females) or groin/genital area (all patients) – please bear in mind that photographs will be seen by administration staff
Photographs should be clearly focused
Take the photograph as close up as possible with a measuring tape or ruler placed next to the affected area to allow size to be determined
Check that the photograph gives a good representation before uploading it

Please ensure all images are in either JPEG/JPG or PDF format for us to be able to download them.

I agree to the Clinical Photography consent.
Once received, we will forward your pictures to the clinician. Please note the following:

1. You have requested advice from a clinician and agreed to forward a photo/s to them.

2. It was agreed during the consultation that this photographic evidence will assist the clinician in providing your clinical care.

3. By uploading your photographs you are giving implicit, informed, consent that your images can be viewed, downloaded into your medical record and forwarded to the clinician you spoke to (or another clinician if the one you spoke to is not available).

4. You are also giving consent for your image/s to be forwarded by the clinician to another health professional for further advice or diagnostic purposes eg Secondary Care departments at Raigmore Hospital.

5. The images will be securely stored and not used for any other purpose without your express permission.
