With patients’ needs at the heart of everything we do, our website has been designed to make it easy for you to gain instant access to the information you need. As well as specific practice details such as opening hours and how to register, you’ll find a wealth of useful pages covering a wide range of health issues along with links to other relevant medical organisations.
eConsult
We are excited to announce that we have launched eConsult for our patients. The service is available below and allows patients to ask for advice about their health conditions, symptoms or request sick notes, GP letters and fit notes
online. eConsult will be available during surgery hours to start with. You fill out a quick online form and the practice
will get back to you by the end of the next working day with the next steps. This means you won’t need to come
into the surgery unless you need a face to face appointment. You may receive a call, email or text from the surgery with next steps, or
to let you know your prescription is ready to collect.
Diabetes Care
Diabetic care has previously been delivered by the practice under an Enhanced Service commissioned by NHS Highland. Enhanced Services are a means by which Health Boards can contract with practices to deliver services which are out-with the core GP contract.
Unfortunately, NHS Highland have withdrawn this Enhanced Service and have not issued an acceptable alternative.
We therefore have to refer a cohort of our patients to the consultant-led diabetes service at Raigmore hospital, and they will be responsible for the continued diabetic care.
Patients that we are having to refer to the diabetic service come under one, or more, of the categories below:
For all patients whose care will remain with the practice, your diabetic monitoring will now continue as an annual, instead of 6 monthly, review. We will contact you annually, on or around your month of birth, to ask you to arrange your review appointment.
It is a source of regret and frustration to Riverside Highland Medical Group that we are unable to continue to deliver these services locally. It is hoped NHS Highland may in the near future choose to contract this work back to General Practice in a viable way
NHS 24 Mental Health Hub

Extended Hours
Unable to make an appointment during core hours? We have extended hours available with our Practice Nurse weekly on a Friday morning from 7.30am – 8.30am. These appointments are very popular so please give our admin team a call to book.
Of course we’re not just here for when you are unwell. Our team of healthcare professionals and back-up staff offer a number of clinics and services to promote good health and wellbeing whatever your medical condition.
We hope you enjoy having a look around the site and familiarising yourself with some of the online features such as ordering a repeat prescription. Whatever your thoughts, be sure to let us know via our feedback function. Comments and suggestions are always a great way of helping us continue to enhance the way we look after you.
The practice has access suitable for disabled and wheelchair borne. A foldable wheelchair is available to assist patients into the surgery if necessary.
Compliments and Complaints
We hope that with your help and co-operation we will be able to make this website a better portal for all your online needs.
For Compliments and Complaints about your experience at Dunedin Medical Practice please email nhsh.gp56011-admin@nhs.scot marked for the attention of Clare Matheson, Practice Manager.
